What is the trial?

Participants will receive £50 per month (for 12 months) to spend on transport services bookable through Breeze, the new travel super-app. Breeze allows users to plan and book journeys with a whole host of transport providers within the Solent region, including buses, trains, car clubs, rental e-scooters, bikes, and e-bikes.

Why are we running it?

The Mobility Credits trial has been designed as a way to evaluate the way eligible residents would travel if they had more financial freedom to do so.

The trial forms part of the Solent Future Transport Zone (FTZ) programme which is being delivered by Solent Transport in partnership with local authorities.

Future Transport Zones are a trial programme funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) to help make journeys easier, smarter and greener.

The Solent FTZ has been awarded £28.8m from the DfT to run numerous tests and trials of innovative approaches to transport across the Solent region.

As these tests and trials take place, we’re conducting research, capturing data and inviting feedback to understand whether these innovations are improving your transport options and the way you travel.

Using Mobility Credits through Breeze

Breeze shows you the quickest, cheapest and most eco-friendly options for the journey you want to take.

Info you can rely on.

Find stops and transport options available near you. Breeze works alongside local transport operators and the local authority to provide you with accurate information on timetables, how busy services are, traffic levels and much more.

Choose what works best for you.

Take an e-scooter to the station, drive to the park-and-ride to catch a bus or use your bike for the whole journey. Whatever your preference, you can plan it all with Breeze.

Effortless and flexible.

Switch between transport options with the touch of a button. Unlock and pay for e-scooters and bikes and plan your journeys without needing to switch between multiple apps.

Am I eligible?

To apply to participate, you will need to:

Have received a letter from your local authority inviting you to participate;

Be aged under 30 (or were under 30 when you received the letter);

Receive Council Tax support;

Email icon

Own a smartphone;

Email icon

Have a debit/credit card registered in your name;

Email icon

Be willing to sign up to Breeze.
